Childfree Issues |
|
For those who don’t know, ‘childfree’ is a term used to describe those who have chosen not to have children. In a society that is becoming more child-focused every year, the needs and interests of the childfree are often overlooked. While there will be some cases in which parents will need a helping hand, those without children, like everyone, deserve to be heard and considered. With your help, we can decide when a policy is a needed and deserved measure, and when it goes too far. Only then can those without children speak up and advocate for their interests to be considered as well. This venture will have two stages. First, we have a blog to which everyone is invited to submit various topics of interest. From there we can launch projects aimed at specific issues of interest. The first project—advocating for equal workplace benefits—has begun. The website for this project is linked above. Those wishing to collaborate on the blog should email laura@childfreenews.com to be given posting access. As always, comments on each week's post are welcome. This will be a multimedia project, combining posts, podcasts, and video. Submissions of those materials are also welcome, including those for the benefits project website. |

Although the childfree community is growing, there is no central place for us to collaborate and organize. With your help, this will become such a space. |
